Our week in iPhone Photos

Our week has been pretty busy. My Mam-maw was at my moms during the beginning of the week so Sadie and I drove back and forth quite a bit and stayed one night there so we could take her to the airport Wednesday morning. It was so sad to see her leave but oh so nice having her so close for a week.

Miss Sadie has been learning so many new things every single day! She reaches for things with such determination and purpose now and wants to put everything in her mouth. That probably has to do with the three little teeth I feel in there pushing on her poor little gums. We tried mulitple times taking her to our neighborhood pool but each time it was closed so we played in the tub instead :)

Baseball season is officially here and Sadiebug could not be more excited. As you can tell from her picture in her World Series onesie with Fredbird! (who is exactly the same size as her at the moment).

That coffee mug there in the center. How awesome is that? Your eyes do not deceive you, there is in fact a unicorn sharing a pot of honey with a bear under a rainbow. I may have begged my mom to let me take that home from her house.

In other news I want to say a big Happy Birthday to my Momma-in-law! We are headed to visit them this weekend and I don't know who is more excited about that out of the three of us.

I hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend!

World Champions!

As you all are pretty well aware of, I am a HUGE baseball fan. Especially when it comes to my St. Louis Cardinals! After staying up after midnight screaming and celebrating only to have to wake up a few hours later for my 12 hour work shift, I finally have enough sanity to tell you all that...

THE CARDINALS WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!

Sadie was cheering along with me during all of game seven. She was probably wondering what the heck I was getting so worked up for but I like to think that she is just already such a big cardinals fan. Thanks to a bet made between the hubs and I regarding the outcome of the World Series, Sadie is exclusively Cardinals fan and will not be cheering on the Reds :) Therefore she will soon be sporting this little number:
And one more awesome picture we found on the interwebs that made my baseball loving heart smile:
I wont go into the details of the games (because, well I know none of you care) but there were some great displays of baseball at its finest. I am so excited for spring when baseball is back and we will be able to share our love of sports with our little girl. She doesn't know what she's in for ;)

Baseball!

As I have mentioned before, the hubs and I are huge baseball fans (well sports in general but baseball holds a special place in my heart). The only problem is that we are both big fans of different teams who just happen to be in the same division. And for the first time in our relationship I went over to the dark side and put on a Reds shirt for my first Reds game.
The hubs would probably say that this is long overdue since he has worn Cardinals gear on many occasions but he also agreed it was worth the wait.

I got the hubs tickets to the game for his birthday and the little surprise was that his parents and one of his brothers would be joining us. We had such a great time and I did my best to cheer for the Reds.

At the game we kept noticing all of the little girls there to cheer on their favorite team. We started to get really excited about taking Sadie to games to experience the things we both loved growing up. We already have spring training game locations picked out based on which fields have shaded grassy areas.

There is just so much we are looking forward to! And of course, I have already searched etsy to find some adorable outfits for her to wear to the games :)

and of course a matching headband!

Steppin' Out Saturday 10.23.10

One of my most favorite bloggers (Mandy from Harper's Happenings) started a blog hop a few weeks ago called Steppin' Out Saturday. You post a picture of you "steppin' out" on Saturday in whatever cute little number you have on. Mandy also has an adorable little mini and they are always dressed in the cutest ways possible. So I am going to attempt to keep up with the cute and join in this fun blog hop and I hope some of you will do the same. You know, not so I can steal your outfit ideas or anything. Nope. Definitely not.
This Saturday was spent tailgating for the UCF Homecoming game (hence the UCF attire).

And a couple more pictures of our Saturday just for fun:
As we were headed home we passed this awesome Knight made out of wine corks and bottle caps! It was a great Saturday :)

A football weekend

As I am sure many of you already know, this weekend marked the beginning of football season. For our little family that means Saturdays are spent tailgating and watching college football and Sundays are spent at the same sports bar to watch the Bengals play (and you know, others teams too). And I love it!

Even though college football started last week, this was our first time tailgating this season. For those of you who are currently experiencing fall weather, I am so jealous because it was so flippin' hot yesterday! Pretty sure I sweat away ten pounds. yuck. gross. ew. Despite the heat, it was a lot of fun. We didn't stay for the game but instead just walked home (we live super close) and watched the game from our couch, in the lovely a/c.
I know, yikes on the hair but remember how I said it was hot? But check out those awesome Love, Megan college wristlets :)

Today we cheered on the Bengals... but they must not have heard us because they lost. That makes for a not so happy hubby. At least there were friends and beer to help dull his pain. Overall a fun weekend with lots of football and friends :)
(a little sunburnt from tailgating! notice Wenty has a Bengals collar on)

Only three days of work for me this week and then I am off to an exciting Bachelorette cruise on Thursday! Woohoo!

A New Adventure

After much deliberation, I have decided to start another blog. No worries, I am still keeping this one and updating per usual! This will remain my outlet for all things baby, pups, and life in general. The new blog, Beauty at the Ball Game, is about sports!

I love talking and writing about sports but I felt that it just didn't fit here. Having a post about making babies followed by a post about post season prospects doesn't work. So now I have my own space to write all about the sports I love.

I encourage you all (sports fans and not) to check it out and give it a chance. It's not going to be your typical sports blog. It's written for women, for you. It will be fun!

Love, Megan

Family Feud

The hubs and I are big sports fans. We both grew up in cities that revolved around their respective teams and attended sporting events for as far back as we can remember. To put it lightly, we are both very passionate about our teams.

The hubs can still recall his first Cincinnati Reds baseball game and marveling over the large chocolate chip cookie he was given while sitting on his dads lap. And every Sunday during football season we shut everything down, put on our Bengals gear and head to the local sports bar to watch the game. Last season we didn't miss a single one.

As for me, my loyalty lies with the St.Louis Cardinals. At first, it was the appeal of Fredbird (their mascot) dancing around on the field but as I got older I learned to really appreciate the game of baseball. We make it to a spring training game every year while they are in Florida and do our best to make it out to STL whenever possible.

We adopted our towns basketball team (gooo Magic!) and since I had no real ties to the Rams, I too have become a Bengals fan. So our only feud exists in baseball. Between two teams that are well respected.... and in the same division.
At the beginning of the season, we try to support each others teams the best we can as long as they aren't playing each other. But come August, it's time to get serious. Right now our teams are neck and neck for the number one spot in their division. As you can imagine there is a lot of "oh, so how did your team do today? because mine rocked and I already know yours lost" kinda talk. There is also a lot of "when MY team wins goes to the off season..." and "when MY team wins the world series" going on.

When October rolls around, I just hope we are still speaking.

Ok, I kid, we will still be talking. and teasing each other. Because that is what we do. But don't you feel a wee bit scared for our future children? We will both be trying to get them to root for our team and changing their outfit from Reds gear to Cardinals gear and back during baseball season. Poor kids.

My reasoning says that we should cheer for the Cardinals as a family since I took on his football team. Makes sense right? You should all explain that to him.
